If you’ve spent any amount of time perusing Pinterest or wedding websites like Style Me Pretty, you know that creating and executing an out-of-this-world wedding design plan is SUPER important for wedding planners these days. And y’all, the design aspect of wedding planning is SO TOUGH to nail down. Sometimes wedding couples have already selected elements that help their planners build towards an overarching design plan. Other times couples have a general design concept but have no clue how to make their vision come to life. Regardless of where our wedding couples are in the design process, here’s how the Wedding Co of Williamsburg team creates amazing design plans that work for our couples!
We provide a full design plan for each of our couples who purchase our full coordination package. The design plan includes elements within the couples’ budget and style in every aspect of the couples’ wedding: attire, stationary (all signage, invites, and save the dates), florals, rentals, linens, place settings (china/silverware/glassware), and food & beverage (including cake and desserts).

For the items that can be purchased right away, my team includes links within the design plan. This way, if the couple loves a specific item, they can purchase it as soon as they’re ready.
Sometimes my team finds that our couples simply aren’t familiar with the costs associated with creating their dream wedding and hiring their dream team of wedding vendors. In order to manage expectations and help our couples determine which wedding elements are top priorities, we do the following:
My team and I always start by asking for any Pinterest inspiration that our couples have seen and liked over the years. Not only does this help determine our couples’ wedding style, it also allows us to incorporate specific elements into their wedding design plan.
We also send our clients a full design questionnaire that helps us create the best design for them. After we present the design plan, we set up a meeting to talk through every element and the next steps!

Once we’ve discussed the design plan with the couple, we create a note in their aisle planner dashboard that includes all their feedback. We resort back to this design plan as we make decisions on rentals, decor, florals, and day of decor. We also use it as a working document for sharing inspiration with the other vendors involved.
